Kindermusik at Home!

July 18, 2009

For your baby Kindermusik at home is so special. You can listen to the music and dance to your heart’s content. You can also observe your child’s action schemes or how he or she is playing with the instruments: shaking it, throwing it, or “eating” it!

For your toddler the home instrument is a little more interesting! It might have a funny name like “fiddle sticks” or it might be shaped like an elephant! Now you can discuss the shape, color, and sound of the instrument!

As your child moves from toddler hood to preschool and older, he or she is ready to explore instruments in class and at home by seeing “how” high, low, faster, slower, they can play. They also enjoy playing more than one instrument at a time!

How will you and your child enjoy music, instruments, and home activities? Check out your parent guide, try something fun, and then talk about it below!Aaliyah playing bells

Wanted to share a story with you..ever since our first demo class when Antonio was 5 months old, I always sing Baa-Baa Black Sheep after his bath as I massage him with lotion. A few weeks ago, I was massaging him and had forgotten to sing.He looked up at me and said “Baa Baa?” I realized immediately what he was wanting and as soon as I started singing he broke into a large grin! Now he often “asks” for his favorite massage time song! Not bad for a 10 month old!
